Goals and Starting over as a “new blogger”

ShareTweet I had plans, at the beginning of the year, or the end of last year, to get back to blogging fulll-time. I gave myself a deadline of February 1st. Well, you can see that didn’t happen. With that said, I still have blogging goals and I still plan a big come back to all the blogz.  Writing has been difficult for me in the last six years due to some life changing events in my life. I’m ready to move on and learn to write/blog all over again. The hardest part was that I couldn’t organize in my head what to write about. I just couldn’t get any words to come from my head out through my fingers. So, … Read entire article »

What’s new around here and a second Etsy shoppe

ShareTweet I have another 3 tier dish together and drying.  I found these two plates and two bowls *only need one bowl* at the Good Will this evening. They have this pretty painted flower and greenery look and I put small cabbage roses with green stitched to the top of each small glass used to tier the dishes.  These glasses are what I went there for. Sorta.. I went to two Dollar Tree’s and only found one crystal looking candle stick.  There must be a run on them. Maybe Halloween? I have no idea. I just know that there aren’t any and I need them for my tier dish displays. So off to the Good Will (1/2 mile … Read entire article »

My personal organizing ideas

ShareTweet My body can’t quite keep up with my new OCD tendencies. I want to keep organizing and purging and getting things all looking nice and cleaned out. I have several decorative pretty storage boxes empty now. I still haven’t unpacked my organized craft backpacks (two) so I’ve been making room for it. The Boy said he’d help me empty them out and sort places for them to go tomorrow. I have to get above the bed (well, the boy will for me) and dust and see if there is anything in the decorative boxes up there. Most of them up there are heart shaped and sitting on their sides so the hearts face forward. Anyway, I … Read entire article »

My day is done..

ShareTweet My work day has ended.  I can now get to reading blogs and getting some of my own planned out. Maybe. I’m tired.  I put more tiger balm on my neck, lit a candle, turned the fan on low, turned off the overhead light and kept just the twinkle light strand on and well, here I am. I was going to glue some hat pins together but my glossy accents is giving me fits and even a pin didn’t work and I’ll figure it out tomorrow. I poked a hole, slit, through the side of my other bottle so I need to finish one and pour into the other or trade tips is probably an easier … Read entire article »

My experience with Tiger Balm Ultra

ShareTweet When I was a little girl and growing up in California, we had to go to an eastern oriental store to find Tiger Balm. Tiger Balm is like a super high density deep heat or ben gay, with the scent of cloves. Its very strong but tolerable when you are in pain. I’ve been having lots of trouble with my neck and the pain has become unbearable. While we were out, yesterday, I picked up some tiger balm. They had two types and I bought “ultra.”  My thought was that ultra must be better, although I couldn’t imagine how they could make such a wonderful product better. Well, to my surprise its white in the jar an clear on … Read entire article »

What I’ve learned from Facebook lately..

ShareTweet   Friendship is a sheltering tree. ~Samuel Taylor Coleridge I’ve always said I have a love/hate relationship with FaceBook.  I love gathering with friends, old and new, and tons of extended family.  Its nice to lend a hug when someone is in need and its always nice to receive a hug when my day is not going all that grand.  I love being back in touch with all my cousins, too.  I, also love all my new local friends that i’ve made since I moved to South Carolina.  Its nice to keep in touch with friends we have had to leave behind when we’ve moved. I hate that FaceBook knows things about my family or friends before I … Read entire article »

I guess they call them books or folios or something like that ::giggle::

ShareTweet I’m still addicted to YT and I’ve been trying to learn how to make these folio book things. I’ve gone over a tutorial about three times now. I’m trying to commit as much as I can to memory because of all the tut’s I’ve seen, this one is the most detailed, uses no glue in the binding and just is my favorite, so far. Three parts I’ll put below: Now, just for fun, I thought I’d include a peek at some of the finished foto folios that I wish I was talented enough to create or had a gold mine of money to buy kits. These are my favorite yummies so far, as … Read entire article »

I’m a Crafting Youtube Stalker

ShareTweet If you want to know how to do it, go to YouTube and you’ll probably find it.  That’s my new motto as I jumped into the deep end of some new to me crafting ideas. It all started when I wondered what the heck was washi tape?  I know now and I’m only addicted to making mock versions with paper tape. I feel so bad.  The crafters know everyone’s name and their YouTube page and reference them for credit and I feel craptastic about it because I’ve watched so many of them that I don’t know anyone’s name or their YouTube channel.  I’m just to knew to the game. I quickly got addicted to making my own supplies … Read entire article »

American debt in the National Debt

ShareTweet (This is my 200th post on this blog) My daughter, across the country, at BYU-Idaho called me today.  She had some questions about a cool class she had,, today in her finance class. She wanted to know about bonds.  She has one from a long time ago, from my BIL who passed away at 24 in an auto accident. She wanted to know if she could find out its value today.  I told her I didn’t know and she asked if it had her ssn on it and I told her it does.  Then I told her she couldn’t trust that a website was “real” and to not give her ssn number out, over the Internet.  She … Read entire article »

Pain Care Physicians of Charleston – Dr. John Bailey and my fees

ShareTweet Dr. Bailey is my new Pain Management Doctor. His card says: American Board of Anesthesiology American Board of Addiction Medicine ASCP- Board Certification Advanced Psychopharmacology American Board of Pain Medicine ABMS-Board Certification Pain Medicine Courtesy Associate Professor- University of Florida Fellowships: Advanced Interventional Pain Medicine and Addiction Medicine I’ve had pain injection procedures with Dr. Bailey soon after they didn’t work with Dr. Tavel.  Dr. Bailey took three times as much time as Dr. Tavel.  He managed my versed better, in intervals instead of all at once.  He took the time to find the nerve, let it heat up so I could notice it, then send a small pulse to make the muscle jump, then after all four were set up, burned the nerves.  … Read entire article »

Scary Truths about Lipozene OTC

ShareTweet Over-the-counter Diet “Pill” Lipozene is all the rave, lately. The premise is it claims you are fat because of excess cortisol in your body.  What it doesn’t explain is that there are true medical reasons that you could have high levels of cortisol in your body. If Lipozene works for you, you probably are in desperate need of an endocrinologist. Your body produces cortisol through glands in the body , either because it is enlarged or even has a tumor on it. This makes using an over-the-counter product (mail order too) negative to your well being and health. I have not seen any of these warnings on the commercials I’ve seen about Lipozene.  I’ve seen more negative side-effects in commercials about … Read entire article »

My experience with Dr. Tavel and Pain Specialists of Charleston

ShareTweet Okay.  So where do I start? I started seeing a Pain Specialist, when my doctor felt that he couldn’t be responsible for my pain management.  After an MRI, One of the PA’s at Pain Specialists of Charleston read the report and freaked out, briefly. Then she immediately prescribed opioid prescriptions for me.  It was like a light went on and they finally realized “oh this must hurt” really? So, then I was faced with the whole SC State Controlled informed consent paperwork. I chose one doctor and one pharmacy.  Along with this, I was introduced with monthly urinalysis. Before I go any further, I want you to know that my monthly urinalysis, is done through this doctor’s office, … Read entire article »

South Carolina Opioiod Informed Consent Use Policies

ShareTweet As an Informed Consent Use Policy is a paper you sign with your pain management doctor. It states that you will receive your opioid prescriptions from one doctor and have them filled with one pharmacy.  I, personally, have two pharmacies on mine because I don’t usually fill my own prescriptions and I wanted those that do that errand for me to choose between two nearest to our home. Medscape author Jennifer Bolin, JD, states about Informed Consent: The physician should discuss the risks and benefits of the use of controlled substances with the patient, persons designated by the patient, or with the patient’s surrogate or guardian if the patient is incompetent. Note: The patient should receive prescriptions from one … Read entire article »

My personal secret, coming out of my cave to speak about my disability

ShareTweet Hello friends and family, I’m sorry for the distance between my posts. I hope that when new people find my pages, they find enough to enjoy, but I do always wish they had something new to keep them coming back, so I’m working on several new posts to come out in the next few days. Tonight, I want to tell you a little secret that may not be secret to many of you, but I’m going public with it now. I’ve spent the last year, or more, holding down my bed. Literally. My prescriptions total up to 30 now and I’ve gained 100 pounds of my lost 160, from my weight loss surgery, in less than six months. They always … Read entire article »
