Soapbox in the name of Obamacare and Free Enterprise

It takes something extraordinary, these days, to get me to hurt myself, physically, to open this lappie..

but here she blogs…

Okay.  At first, I didn’t know what to say (great opening for a debate, eh?)  No, this is not a debate.  These are some facts, that are personal, and not up for debate.

I consider Home Delivered Pizza a privilege and convenience food.  I could care less if the pie went up a dollar each.

BUT.. This is just the beginning of getting our heads out of the sand.  I have kept my politics out of blog all year, which means I’ve been stewing to spew forth..

Obamacare is the beginning of something so ugly that I’ve not been wanting to talk about it.

I’m depressed.  You should be, too.

Before Obamacare, I had to stop seeing my allergist and stop taking his prescriptions because I couldn’t afford the co-pays, so don’t mind me while I throw snot all over your screen.

This is my life and the life of people around me.. and here we go..

Today we must start to think about how we are going to do without MORE. OF EVERYTHING.  The collapse of the economy seems to be a running joke in the real world.

Mr. Papa Johns is who he is, his 40,000 square foot mansion and all, because of this precious thing we call FREE ENTERPRISE.  He should not be looked down on for doing a good business job.  He should be admired and prove that every American, today, has this privilege to be just like him if we so desire to DO SOMETHING more than complain.

We are losing so much, my brain can’t keep up with it all.  Most people I know have their heads buried and they are ignoring the reality check that is just the beginning.

Its not going to get better.  There, I said it.

There is no way for it to “get better.”  All it can do is do.

I’m fortunate.  I can still have antibiotics.  Seriously.   Something as simple as that is not given to many and our ER’s are full of people just desperate for an antibiotic.

What is wrong with this?

I, also, don’t have an insurance company that is capping my ability to have rescue inhalers.  Others are being told that they have breathed enough this month.  SERIOUSLY.

I’m fortunate to have health care.  I’m not healthy.  I, also, find myself swimming in premiums, deductibles, co-pays, and the decrease of the flex spending account, that is being cut in half this coming year.

Even, in Robin Hood, the poor were BEING taxed.

I know people who live in a negative tax bracket.  They are unemployed and with privileges in our taxes, that are soon going to disappear, they are getting a check back without paying any taxes into our system.  Good for them.  They have no income.  Bad for them when this privilege disappears. Right along with our privilege to afford health care insurance.

You see..  they are not going to give us the insurance.. that is required.  They are going to require that we have it, whether we can pay for it or not.  How many fines are you ready to pay for that?

(hat tip: Patrick in response to Papa Johns and Obamacare)
